WHAT'S THE STORY
Hi! Pleased to meet you! Don’t let the look of my gums startle you! If you know what I’m talking about, you know what I’m talking about. You practice your smile in front of the mirror trying to figure out how to arrange your lips so that people see more teeth than gums.
I used to do pretty well for a photograph if I got plenty of notice, like “Say CHEESE!” or “OK, everybody, on the count of three …” But when I laughed out loud, or had a big spontaneous grin, it was all gum. At least that’s how it felt to me. So I did something about it, and now when I smile it’s my beautiful teeth that might startle you, but that’s OK.

We always want to remind our patients that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Don’t let anybody pressure you into changing the way you look. That said, Brittany is one of many patients featured here whose choices for cosmetic improvement included a desire to reduce the amount of gum tissue that shows in a smile. Our smile makeovers include so many of these procedures, we sometimes forget that many people don’t know it’s even possible. We call it a “gum lift,” because that’s exactly what it is. The gum line is raised, like a curtain, revealing the beauty of the tooth structure underneath. Don’t worry about showing too much tooth! This is where all our years of experience, education, and skill come in. We will sculpt your gums and use LLK veneers in a way that makes everything proportional. It is a win-win: less gums, and beautiful teeth.
